چکیده
This paper evaluated the pozzolanic activity of ceramic sanitary ware (CSW) waste when blended with Portland cement (PC). CSW units were broken, crushed and milled to reduce their particle size. These particles characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM-EDX), laser granulometry, X-ray fluorescence (XRF) diffraction tests (XRD), then used replace 0–50 wt.% PC CEM I 42.5R in pastes mortars. Workability fresh mortars was assessed flow-table spread test, mechanical properties microstructure (thermogravimetry, SEM-EDX, XRD Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy tests) investigated samples cured at 20 °C for up 365 days. No significant workability variations observed increasing contents and, although relatively slow, it improved curing time, prepared 25 satisfied requirements established other materials, such as fly ash.

Effects of Waste Bricks Powder of Gachsaran Company as a Pozzolanic Material in Concrete
The aim of this study is to investigate the feasibility of using waste bricks powder of Gachsaran Company in concrete. Cement is replaced by waste bricks powder in different proportions until 40 percent by weight. pozzolanic properties of bricks powder and compressive strength of concrete were investigated. The results demonstrated that the bricks powder show pozzolanic properties. Results also...
متن کاملA Review on the Usage of Ceramic Wastes in Concrete Production
Construction and Demolition (C&D) wastes contribute the highest percentage of wastes worldwide (75%). Furthermore, ceramic materials contribute the highest percentage of wastes within the C&D wastes (54%). The current option for disposal of ceramic wastes is landfill. This is due to unavailability of standards, avoidance of risk, lack of knowledge and experience in using ceramic wastes in const...
متن کاملSanitary Landfill Method of Solid Waste Disposal
IN T R O D U C T IO N Reduced to its simplest terms, solid waste collection and disposal consists of the acceptance of the solid waste from processes of human life, the transportation of such material to disposal sites, and the process ing and disposal of the material so that nuisances are not created. The entire process must be carried out in such a manner that the public health of the commun...
متن کاملUse of vitrified urban incinerator waste as raw material for production of sintered glass - ceramics
The crystallisation behaviour of vitrified industrial waste (fly ash from domiciliary solid waste incineration) was examined by differential thermal analysis, X-ray diffractometry and scanning electron microscopy. It was demonstrated that powder processing route was required to transform the vitrified industrial waste into glass-ceramics products. Time-Temperature-Transformation (TTT) diagrams ...
